Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking experienced Cost / Senior Cost Managers to support the delivery of new construction projects, including developments for central & local government, such as new prisons across the UK.

Our professionals handle projects typically ranging from £10-£50m, providing support based on project complexity. The successful candidate will also work directly with Directors on high-profile projects in the region.

Role Objectives

  • Pre and post-contract duties including cost estimates, procurement, tendering, contract administration, variation management, and final accounts.
  • Conduct feasibility studies.
  • Estimate and plan costs, produce and present final cost plans.
  • Manage tendering and procurement activities, including pre-qualification, tender analysis, and contract documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and valuations.
  • Engage with clients and consultants throughout project stages.
  • Manage cost variances and change control processes post-contract.
  • Perform risk analysis, contribute to value engineering, and negotiate final accounts.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality cost management or quantity surveying services across project lifecycles.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., RICS) preferred.
  • Degree or HNC qualification.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
