Job summary

Turner & Townsend has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Manager to join our Newcastle Real Estate team, guiding clients and their professional teams on iconic projects across the Northeast.

You'll work with leading conservators, architects and engineers to ensure value for money, advising across qualitative and commercial perspectives on a day‑to‑day basis. Strong PQS/Cost Management background preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in cost management/quantity surveying.
• Professional qualification with RICS or equivalent preferred.
• Degree or HNC in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Assist feasibility studies and write procurement reports.
• Estimate and cost plan, produce and present final cost plan.
• Tendering and procurement management including pre-qualification.
• Manage post‑contract cost variances and change control processes.
• Valuations and cost checks on larger projects, timely reporting.
• Produce monthly post‑contract cost reports for the client.
• Negotiate final accounts and interface with client and consultants.

Turner & Townsend has an exciting opportunityfor a Cost Manager to joinour Newcastle Real Estate team to help guide ourclients and their professional teamson a number of exciting and iconicprojects across the Northeast.

You’ll have a real desire and commitment to understand how the builders of the past put together their buildings, and what that means to modern contractors. You’ll be working on a day-to-day basis with leadingconservators, architects and engineers to ensure that the client and contractor deliver the best value for money – advising all parties on the best solutions from a qualitative and commercial perspective.

We’re looking forindividuals possessing a keen interest in this spacewith a good knowledge of construction, whether from a Main Contracting or PQSbackground; who possessan outgoing / collaborative approach.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Commission Management, to include:

• Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
• Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan
• Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage
• Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes
• Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
• Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages

• A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management / quantity surveyingservices across the full project lifecycle
• Ideally professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
• Degree or HNC level qualification
