Job summary

Cobalt Recruitment is seeking an experienced Cost Manager for a Fit Out focus in Greater London. The role offers ownership of financial management across complex schemes within a fast-paced project environment.

You will manage cost control, tendering, contract documentation, and change control while coordinating with project teams to ensure commercial success. A degree in Quantity Surveying and strong IT skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven Quantity Surveying experience, ideally on large-scale commercial, residential, or retail projects.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across project teams.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong IT and systems proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of commercial and financial management on construction projects.
• Ensure cost control, contractual compliance, and stakeholder coordination.
• Develop tender lists and prepare detailed tender documentation.
• Evaluate tenders commercially and lead meetings with reports.
• Prepare and administer contract documentation.
• Review subcontractor submissions from a commercial perspective.
• Manage change control processes: instructions, cost agreements, variations.
• Maintain up-to-date project accounts and cash flow forecasts.
• Carry out site inspections to assess progress and commercial performance.
• Prepare interim valuations and manage payment processes.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts.
