Cost Manager (Central) Location: Huntingdon and Peterborough Contract: Permanent/Full time Salary: circa £50,000

Integrated Maintenance & Repair (IMR) Alliance – Part of the Anglian Water network, focuses on infrastructure maintenance work and is responsible for: water network pressure management, finding and fixing leaks, replacing lead pipes and repairing burst mains.

What will you be doing as our new Cost Manager?

This is due to a combination of a growing economy, the highest rate of new housing development in the UK, climate change and being a major agricultural producer. Anglian Water have an ambitious £9bn 5-year capital investment programme (£3 bn in @one) that will provide safe and resilient water supplies, permit sustainable growth, provide climate change resilience, and protect and improve the natural environment.

Key responsibilities:

Be a strong leader and subject matter expert, working centrally reporting to the Alliance Commercial Lead as part of the Commercial Team, you will provide central commercial management, support and analysis for the IMR WR embedded alliance contract and be responsible for the following:

  • Demonstrate the highest levels of commercial integrity and financial self-assurance.

  • Support all areas across the embedded alliance with commercial management.

  • Central commercial management and self-assurance of the embedded alliance, maximising value and minimising future risk.

  • Responsible for the provision of transparent, accurate and timely commercial reporting, working closely with wider commercial team and other alliance teams.

  • Responsible for cashflows, payment curve calculations.

  • Support on the review of contract variations, NEC compensation events and other events with partners and agree appropriate actions with Commercial Lead.

  • Ensure adherence to the embedded alliance internal governance to satisfy contractual and legal requirements.

  • Identification and delivery of commercial process efficiencies.

  • Identification and management of financial and commercial risk using risk and opportunity management tools.

Experiences, Skills & qualifications required for the job
  • Awareness of NEC3 forms of contract.

  • Working in a complex matrix team environment.

  • Awareness of relevant construction and contract law.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.

  • Proven experience of Quantity Surveying.

  • Relevant professional qualification e.g. RICS, CIOB, ICE

  • Quantity Surveying Degree or equivalent.

  • Experience using SAP e.g. Finance, Procurement, ALM.

  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload so that targets and deadlines are met to ensure efficient and effective support to all teams.

  • Demonstrate proactive and flexible approach to managing changing team priorities.

  • Ability to adapt communication style (both written and verbal) to suit a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent understanding of all Microsoft packages, ability to manipulate and present data / information in a clear, concise and most appropriate way.

  • Commercial Accumen.
