Interim Cost Management Accountant / Cost Modelling Consultant
F1 / Motor Sports / Automotive Manufacturing / Engineering / Logistics

Location: Hybrid (Remote with site visits - Stafford)
Start Date: ASAP
Engagement: Contract / Fractional (Outside IR35) - 2 to 5 days per week
Day Rate: £Negotiable / Excellent (Fractional or Contract Opportunity)
Duration: Initial 3-month contract, with strong extension potential

Are you an experienced Cost Modelling Consultant with a background in engineering-led environments such as automotive, motorsport, or advanced manufacturing?

We re supporting a cutting-edge high-performance engine programme that needs commercially aware, engineering-savvy financial leadership to shape and deliver a joined-up cost modelling strategy.

This is a contract or fractional consulting role - ideal for someone with strong exposure to manufacturing, engineering, and logistics operations, who s ready to dive into a complex, fast-paced environment. You ll report directly to the CFO, with a broad remit and high-level visibility.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Design and implement scalable, cross-functional cost models for engine development
  • Build robust financial processes across engineering, procurement and operations
  • Identify cost leakage and drive actionable insights for decision-makers
  • Develop board-ready reporting and cost control governance
  • Work across teams to embed best practice cost control into daily operations

About You:
  • Extensive experience in cost modelling, cost accounting and financial cost control
  • Strong grounding in engineering or manufacturing environments - especially those with complex supply chains and logistics
  • Deep knowledge of absorption costing and engineered product cost structures
  • Able to influence senior stakeholders and challenge assumptions where needed
  • Experience in F1 is great, but motorsport or high-performance automotive more broadly is very welcome
