We’re looking for a detail-oriented Cost Estimator to join our growing team. You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, competitive, and commercially sound cost estimates for a variety of projects, from early-stage bids to change orders and post-project evaluations.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Cost Estimator, located in Wheatley. The Cost Estimator will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as project estimation, budgeting, cost management, and cost control. They will conduct detailed analyses to support project cost accuracy and ensure financial efficiency throughout project life cycles.

Qualifications

  • Project Estimation, Budgeting, and Cost Management skills
  • Strong Analytical Skills for detailed cost analysis and financial efficiency
  • Expertise in Cost Control to ensure project financial efficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Previous experience in construction or industrial projects is advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation

  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
  • Leverage historical data, current market rates, and industry benchmarks.

Bid & Proposal Preparation

  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project teams to develop tender submissions.
  • Ensure bids are both competitive and profitable.

Risk Assessment

  • Identify financial risks and uncertainties across project scopes.
  • Build contingency strategies to protect margins and ensure resilience.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

  • Source and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Validate alignment with project timelines and budgets.

Project Feasibility

  • Analyze the commercial viability of new projects.
  • Advise management on pricing strategies and profitability forecasts.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, assumptions, and revisions.
  • Create insightful reports for stakeholders and clients.

Team Collaboration

  • Partner with finance, operations, procurement, and delivery teams.
  • Ensure cohesion between estimates and project execution.

Estimating Tools

  • Use software such as CostX, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or Excel.
  • Stay up to date with digital estimation trends and tools.

Change Orders

  • Quantify cost impacts of scope adjustments.
  • Update estimates and documentation as required.

Post-Project Analysis

  • Compare actual vs. estimated costs to improve future forecasting.
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices.
