The Company:
If you have experience of Cost Estimating in a Mechanical Engineering environment, can read 3D CAD drawings, and have a technical mindset (ideally related to anything automotive), then this could be the ideal role for you. We are looking for an Mechanical Estimator to analyse pricing strategies for new products to take them through the product lifecycle. You must be analytical, good with statistics and calculations, and able to read CAD designs.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the co-ordination and successful completion of the cost estimating process, by ensuring the accurate and on-time completion of the OE costing document in addition to any other documents required to support RFQ completion.
  • You will be required to work closely with the other departments such as Project Management, Sales, Purchasing, Engineering and Quality to ensure the RFQ process is followed and completed accurately and in line with the project and customer deadlines.
  • Create, co-ordinate and audit the Cost Analysis Sheet/ Estimate sheet.
  • Track actual costs converted relative to budget/ estimated costs and report this status where relevant to ensure costs are in line with forecasts.
  • Identify and participate in cost reduction exercises for continuous improvement, through cost analysis review and support in cost guidance.
  • Co-ordinate, prepare and provide customers with Aftersales/ Spares quotes.
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong technical mind set and able to interpret technical data and translate to others
  • Highly numerate with the ability to research, assemble, and manage numerical information
  • HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
  • Commercially and financially aware
