Estimating Manager

At Telent, you will have the opportunity to be part of something bigger—keeping critical networks connected and protected 24/7. Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects, collaborating closely with project management and engineering teams. This is a hybrid role, with occasional presence at our Warwick Head Office.

What you’ll do:

• Support the production and submission of accurate, comprehensive estimates for projects
• Manage the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level
• Challenge costs estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering
• Review project specifications and drawings to prepare detailed cost estimates
• Minimize selling costs and response times using standard processes and tools
• Present detailed cost breakdowns and proposals at reviews
• Collaborate with project teams to develop plans and schedules
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information

Who you are:

You have proven experience in a similar estimating role, with strong cost modelling and analysis skills. As an expert in Excel, you combine technical proficiency with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in Transport, Utilities, Telecoms, Construction, or similar industries
• Expertise in Excel
• Strong mathematical abilities
• Excellent communication skills in office, site, and client environments
• Full clean driving licence and flexibility to work at HQ as needed
