Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines Derby is seeking a Cost Estimating Lead to drive cost estimating activities for a high-profile submarine project. You will define and execute performance baselines, and lead artefact creation and maintenance while coaching teams in cost estimation.

The role requires a PM qualification (APM) and typically 5 years in cost estimating, with strong data analytics and analytical skills to interpret diverse information.

Job Description Job Title: Cost Estimating Lead - Submarines Working Pattern: Full time Working location: Derby – Jubilee House

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost Estimating Lead to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby. To support our engineering teams, we now require a highly motivated project team to deploy and execute the full breadth of project management practices in this rapidly growing, fast paced engineering programme.

You will be a key member in the project team in the early phase of the project, leading the definition and execution of the performance measurement baseline. You will take a key role in establishing and delivering fuel and the fuel facility infrastructure for nuclear products of the future.

Develop and maintain implementation plans in the area of cost estimating.

Lead the creation and maintenance of project artefacts in area of cost estimating.

Coach and develop others where appropriate in the cost estimating discipline or provide expert guidance and authoritative leadership to small/medium teams.

Ideally attained Degree level qualification in PM or APM Project Management Qualification or can demonstrate equivalent PM knowledge.

Ideally 5 years’ experience with majority of years’ experience in Cost Estimating Data analytics experience is advantageous but not essential.

Demonstrate good analytical skills with an ability to analyse and interpret information from different sources.
