Job summary

EDF is leading the UK’s Nuclear New Build Programme, and is seeking a Cost Engineer to join the Integrated Project Controls team on the HPC project at Hinkley Point C, Somerset. You’ll help roll out cost and forecasting processes, provide governance-aligned cost reporting, and work across multiple disciplines to track milestones toward Commercial Operation Date.

The role requires strong cost engineering experience on major capital projects, plus analytical skills to interpret performance data

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and communicate cost and performance data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support the roll-out of cost and forecasting processes across the HPC project.
• Provide accurate, timely cost reporting in line with project governance.
• Collaborate with Estimating, Planning, Risk and Performance Measurement disciplines.
• Contribute to integrated baseline delivery and milestone tracking toward COD.
• Build relationships with Project Managers and central functions such as Supply Chain and Finance.

Job description

EDF is leading the UK’s Nuclear New Build Programme, building nuclear power stations at Hinkley Point C in Somerset and Sizewell C in Suffolk. As Cost Engineer, you’ll join the Integrated Project Controls (Cost and Forecasting) team with EDF’s direct partner company – the single source of truth for delivery performance on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the roll-out of Cost and Forecasting processes and frameworks consistently across the HPC project
• Provide accurate, timely cost reporting in line with project governance
• Work as part of a matrix team aligned to one of the project’s key programme areas (Central, Site, Engineering, MEH, Nuclear Island, Conventional Island, Instrumentation & Controls, or Commissioning)
• Contribute to integrated baseline delivery, EPC critical path execution, and milestone tracking toward Commercial Operation Date
• Collaborate closely with the wider Project Controls community, including Estimating, Planning, Risk, and Performance Measurement disciplines
• Build strong working relationships with Project Managers and central functions such as Supply Chain, Finance, and HR
