Up to £390.00 pd PAYE or £520.00 pd via approved umbrella

Working in the Cost Discipline of Project Controls, under the direction and leadership of the IPC Cost Manager, to develop, maintain and deliver timely and accurate cost data and reports for either one of the Programme Controls Teams or the Central Controls Team within the HPC Project, including forecasts, performance analysis, earned value, cash flows, and monthly reports on the Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP). To support EDF Energy in minimising the Estimate At Completion (EAC) for the Programme in accordance with best value.

Challenges and Problem Solving:

  1. Ensure alignment of data between Cost and other Disciplines of Project Controls;
  2. Ensure alignment of ACWP and financial actuals;
  3. Work with key interfaces to identify and understand issues and concerns;
  4. Collaboratively resolve issues, implement corrective action or escalate as required.

Decision-Making:
  1. The job-holder will maintain Project data within their area of work and will be expected to identify local issues and suggest resolutions or changes. The job-holder's line manager will be responsible for the data and decisions will be referred upwards accordingly.

Principal Accountabilities:
  1. Produce and maintain accurate cost and cash forecasts in alignment with the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS);
  2. Accurately maintain all cost data for the Programme within the financial control system (EcoSys), including monthly ACWP calculations;
  3. Co-ordinate and produce cost reports to a defined reporting cycle;
  4. Assist in the accurate assessment of EAC;
  5. Assist in the Trend & Change process, including production of Project Change Reports, analysis of cost impact and provision of feedback on areas of risk and opportunities;
  6. Review, acceptance and integration of cost estimates and forecasts provided by Tier 1 Contractors and suppliers;
  7. Assist with analysis of earned value;
  8. Adhere to Project governance and Cost standards and procedures;
  9. Ensure all Project documents, in particular Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly protectively marked, and protected in accordance with EDF policies and procedures.

Knowledge & Skills:
Desirable:
  1. Knowledge of estimating, scheduling and risk management techniques and associated software;
  2. Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement and construction methods and techniques in a UK context;
  3. Understanding of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC;
  4. Working knowledge of cost risk analysis techniques;
  5. The ability to build relationships both internally and externally;
  6. Good commercial awareness;

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
  1. Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related field;
  2. Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Cost role.

Desirable:
  1. Degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related field;
  2. Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status;
  3. Experience in the use of cost management software systems such as EcoSys;
  4. Experience on a major construction project;
  5. Experience in the Nuclear sector.
