Job summary

EDF Energy is seeking a Cost Engineer to join the Integrated Project Controls team for the HPC project, based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. You will support cost and forecasting processes across key workstreams and deliver governance-aligned cost reporting to project leadership.

The role requires solid cost engineering experience on major capital projects, strong analytical ability, and a collaborative mindset to operate within a matrix organisation and regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost engineering or cost control on major capital projects.
• Ability to produce accurate, timely cost forecasts and reports.
• Familiarity with governance processes and reporting frameworks.
• Experience in a regulated, safety-critical environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the roll-out of cost and forecasting processes across the HPC project.

About the Company

EDF is leading the UK's Nuclear New Build Programme, building nuclear power stations at Hinkley Point C in Somerset and Sizewell C in Suffolk. As Cost Engineer, you'll join the Integrated Project Controls (Cost and Forecasting) team with EDF's direct partner company - the single source of truth for delivery performance on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.

What you'll be doing

• Support the roll-out of Cost and Forecasting processes and frameworks consistently across the HPC project


• Provide accurate, timely cost reporting in line with project governance


• Work as part of a matrix team aligned to one of the project's key programme areas (Central, Site, Engineering, MEH, Nuclear Island, Conventional Island, Instrumentation & Controls, or Commissioning)


• Contribute to integrated baseline delivery, EPC critical path execution, and milestone tracking toward Commercial Operation Date


• Collaborate closely with the wider Project Controls community, including Estimating, Planning, Risk, and Performance Measurement disciplines


• Build strong working relationships with Project Managers and central functions such as Supply Chain, Finance, and HR
