Qualifications

  • Strong part or fully qualified accountant with a proven track record.
  • Solid cost or operational accounting experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Excellent software and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Weekly and monthly production performance reporting.
  • Financial and operational analysis including detailed variance analysis.
  • Partner with operations teams to improve performance and efficiencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate WIP and finished goods inventory.
  • Perform monthly stock reconciliations.
  • Attend finance meetings to provide financial insight.
  • Deliver budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Analyze depreciation and overhead to recommend adjustments.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation and control.

Overview

Cost Accountant - Scunthorpe - Competitive Salary & Benefits. Chase & Holland are excited to be working with a fantastic, highly respected manufacturing business to recruit a Cost Accountant to join their finance team in a newly created role. This role is ideal for an ambitious individual who wants to join a large organisation to provide costings, management accounts and other management information to allow operational managers to make key business decisions and drive performance.

Responsibilities
  • Weekly and monthly production performance reporting including standard cost to actual costs and reasons for variances
  • Financial and operational analysis including detailed variance analysis of cost drivers including labour, yield and energy
  • Partner with operations teams to improve performance and efficiencies
  • Monitor and evaluate WIP and finished goods inventory, ensuring correct valuation recording
  • Perform monthly stock reconciliations for Inventory to validate balances and resolve any discrepancies
  • Attend weekly / monthly finance meetings with the operations teams to provide financial insight to help drive decision making
  • Deliver budget preparation and forecasting for your operational areas
  • Analyze depreciation and overhead to recommend adjustments to improve costs
  • Balance sheet reconciliation and control
  • Make recommendations to improve reporting, processes and procedures to drive improvements in financial insight
Requirements
  • Strong part or fully qualified accountant with a proven track record
  • Solid cost or operational accounting experience within a manufacturing/ engineering environment
  • Excellent software and Excel skills
  • Continuous improvement mentality and strong business partnering skills
  • Ability to prioritise work under pressure and handle multiple activities
