Job Title: Management Accountant – Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Derby, UK
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (Finish March 2026)

Company Overview:
Partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Derby, committed to innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. As part of our ongoing transformation and development, we are looking for a talented and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our finance team on a fixed-term basis.
Role Overview:
The Management Accountant will support the Finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting, cost analysis, and performance insights for operational decision-making. This role is crucial in managing the month-end process, producing management accounts, and ensuring the integrity of financial data within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Perform detailed cost and variance analysis (labour, materials, overheads)
  • Monitor and analyse manufacturing KPIs and production costs
  • Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to improve cost controls
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Maintain standard costing systems and recommend improvements
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and support audit preparation
  • Support process improvements and internal control development
  • Ad-hoc analysis and financial reporting for senior stakeholders

Key Requirements:

  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of management accounting principles
  • Experience of working alongside an operational management team.
  • Good knowledge of Excel Essential.
  • Systems Experience (pref. Oracle R12)
