As a Packaging Technologist, you will assist with product development, technical analysis/verification, and quality aspects of custom and stock packaging. You will work on a diverse range of products across the Beauty & Personal Care category.

You will compile information to support the checking of product quality, testing, processes, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle, from technical drawing and sampling to factory production.

Bring experience and knowledge of packaging manufacturing techniques and quality processes into your daily work.

Role Activities

1. Interrogate packaging samples and specifications to ensure they meet dimensional and functional quality standards.
2. Write and share technical reports.
3. Create prototype parts on the 3D printer using SolidWorks software.
4. Assist with compliance testing of new prototypes, T samples, and production samples.
5. Check pre-shipment inspection reports, identify issues, and escalate concerns.
6. Review test reports, certificates, and documents, ensuring accurate communication and recording.
7. Review product quality regularly and follow up on corrective actions and manufacturing improvements.
8. Manage projects from concept development to product sign-off.
9. Research and develop new sustainable materials, processes, and packaging concepts.
10. Support engineering development of 3D CAD NPD packaging as needed.

Skills and Qualities

1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in packaging specification and compliance.
2. Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
3. Ability to work closely with engineering teams on technical solutions.
4. Good understanding of packaging types and development processes.
5. Design engineering knowledge.
6. Understanding of packaging manufacturing processes.
7. Excellent attention to detail.
8. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including technical writing.
9. Reliable with good organizational and time management skills.
10. Solve problems with a solutions-driven mindset and investigate root causes.
11. Analytical skills to make confident decisions based on data.
12. Knowledge of test standards and testing methods.
13. Teamwork skills and ability to 'muck-in'.
