Job description

Corylus Planning & Environmental is seeking a dedicated and skilled Architectural Technician to join our dynamic team in the Architecture and Planning industry.

As a multi-disciplinary, planning-led consultancy, we pride ourselves on delivering professional and pragmatic development services for a wide range of projects, from individual dwellings to large, multi-functional schemes.

Tasks
  1. Prepare drawings and plans, construction drawings, photomontages, 3D modelling, visualisations, and other illustrative material in support of planning applications, presentation work, and contract documentation.
  2. Apply precise specifications in architectural drawings, and maintain all drawing packages and client/consultants’ specifications in an organised manner.
  3. Execute architectural details and write specifications to a high standard; possess good knowledge and understanding of UK building regulations and planning policies.
  4. Ensure that all project deadlines are met to the highest standard.
  5. Assist in the preparation of illustrated reports, brochures, information leaflets, and marketing materials; maintain and update the company’s website or other internal technical documents.
  6. Ability to undertake ‘freehand’ drawing and artwork (advantageous, but not essential).
  7. Manage and develop computer systems and capabilities.
  8. Have knowledge and experience in the use of the following software packages:
    1. AutoCAD
    2. Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and others)
    3. Sketch-up and/or Revit (experience of other drafting/technical software may be advantageous)
    4. Lumion or rendering software
    5. GIS (advantageous but not essential)
Requirements
  1. Previous experience in graphic presentation work relating to architecture, landscape architecture, planning, or allied professions.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  3. Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
  4. Team player.
  5. Full driving licence and use of own car.
