The Senior Technical Designer Role

You will report to the Design Manager, who will provide direction while you focus on the smooth daily running of the Innovation Laboratory, supporting the manager and your team. You will also lead customer engagement, interfacing with major customers, and using the latest technologies and innovations to deliver design solutions across all industry disciplines, creating award-winning solutions for customers.

Senior Technical Designer Responsibilities

• Managing the daily operations of the facility, including team management and coordinating customer visits.
• Listening to customer needs and communicating professionally, both verbally and in presentations.
• Supporting sales teams with innovative, cost-saving designs that meet customer briefs and business challenges.
• Understanding consumer trends and supply chain challenges to develop bespoke solutions.
• Ensuring goals are met while considering branding, safety, and costs in collaboration with customers.
• Managing workload and projects to meet deadlines.
• Producing customer samples, 3D visuals, artwork proofs, and presentations.

Candidate Profile

We seek an experienced packaging design professional, preferably with experience in corrugate packaging. Operational and team management experience is desirable but not mandatory if the candidate demonstrates readiness for this step. A strong track record in customer engagement and delivering design solutions is essential. The candidate should be enthusiastic, motivated, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, with a team-oriented mindset and stakeholder management skills.

Skills Required

• Experience with Kasemake or Artios CAD, SketchUp Pro, Adobe CC, MS Office
• Knowledge of ecommerce and industrial transit packaging
• Customer-facing and account management skills
• Self-motivated with a full driving license
• Additional skills such as Solidworks, digital printing, and Microsoft Hololens are advantageous but not essential.
