The Senior Technical Designer Role

You will report to the Design Manager, who will provide direction while you focus on the smooth daily operation of the Innovation Laboratory, supporting the manager and your team. Additionally, you will lead customer engagement, interface with major clients, and utilize the latest technologies and innovations to deliver innovative design solutions across industry disciplines, aiming for award-winning results.

Senior Technical Designer Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the facility, including team management and coordinating customer visits.
• Listen to customer needs and communicate professionally, both verbally and in presentations.
• Support sales teams by creating innovative, cost-effective solutions using the latest design tools, aligning with customer briefs and business challenges.
• Understand consumer trends and supply chain issues to develop bespoke solutions.
• Work closely with customers to ensure goals are met, considering branding, safety, and cost implications.
• Prioritize workload and manage projects to meet deadlines.
• Produce customer samples, 3D visuals, artwork proofs, and presentations.

Candidate Profile

We seek an experienced design professional from the packaging sector, preferably with experience in corrugate. Operational and team management experience is desirable but not mandatory if you are ready to advance your career. A strong track record in customer engagement and design solution delivery is essential. You should be enthusiastic, motivated, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent stakeholder management skills.

Skills Required

• Experience with Kasemake or Artios CAD, SketchUp Pro, Adobe CC, MS Office
• Knowledge of ecommerce and industrial transit packaging
• Customer-facing and account management skills
• Self-motivated
• Full driving license
• Additional experience with SolidWorks, digital printing, Microsoft Hololens is advantageous
