Job summary

JMC Legal Recruitment represents a Top 30 international firm in Manchester seeking a senior Corporate partner to lead and grow their existing high-value practice. You’ll drive cross-border mandates and deepen relationships with a strong client base across corporate, private equity, and capital markets.

The role offers a platform for ambitious leadership within an established North West hub, with Europe-wide referrals and meaningful upside as the practice scales.

A compelling opportunity for a senior Corporate lawyer to join an already established and well-regarded practice in Manchester, with the full backing of a Top 30 international firm and a clear mandate to drive the next phase of growth across a high-quality Corporate offering.

Consistently ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers across multiple disciplines, the firm is recognised for combining technical excellence with a commercially focused, modern approach to legal services.

The firm has built a genuinely strong platform across Corporate, Real Estate and Dispute Resolution in Manchester, and is now focused on bolstering and complementing that offering with senior lateral hires across key practice areas. This is not a firm building from scratch in the North West. The infrastructure is in place, the reputation is established and the focus is firmly on the next phase of growth.

The Role

Corporate is already one of the firm's core strengths in Manchester, with an established team, a strong client base and a consistent pipeline of high-quality transactional work. The firm is now looking to add further senior expertise to that team, bringing in a Partner who can complement the existing offering, deepen relationships and help take the practice to the next level.

The work is high-value and varied. The firm is open to Corporate Partners from an M&A, capital markets or private equity background, and equally open to those who operate across a broader mix of all three. You will be working on complex, high-value transactions for a strong mix of corporate clients, private equity houses, financial institutions and owner-managed businesses, with the firm's international network providing genuine access to cross-border mandates that elevate the quality and profile of the work on offer.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a practice that already has real substance and momentum, rather than building from nothing. You will have the mandate to grow, the team around you to support it and the platform to do it properly.

The firm will have a sensible and considered conversation around how your existing client relationships and transactional expertise can be structured into a realistic and achievable business case. Clients take time, relationships need to be nurtured and the first year rarely tells the full story. The expectation here is a long‑term partnership, not short‑term results under undue pressure.
