The Firm

This Top 30 international firm has a strong and well-established presence across Europe, the US and Asia. Consistently ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers across multiple disciplines, the firm is recognised for combining technical excellence with a commercially focused, modern approach to legal services.

The firm has built a genuinely strong platform across Corporate, Real Estate and Dispute Resolution in Manchester, and is now focused on bolstering and complementing that offering with senior lateral hires across key practice areas. This is not a firm building from scratch in the North West. The infrastructure is in place, the reputation is established and the focus is firmly on the next phase of growth.

The Role

This is not a case of walking into an empty room. The firm already has a strong and well-resourced Banking & Finance team in Manchester, with an established practice, a solid client base and a healthy pipeline of work already in place.

What the firm is now looking to do is add further senior firepower to that team, bringing in a Partner who can complement the existing offering, deepen client relationships and drive the practice into its next phase of growth.

You will join a team with genuine momentum behind it, working across leveraged finance, real estate finance, bilateral loans and syndicated lending, acting for a strong mix of lenders and borrowers on both domestic and cross-border transactions. The firm's Corporate and Real Estate foundations in Manchester create a natural and consistent source of internal referrals, and the firm's international network opens doors to cross-border instructions that strengthen the practice further.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a practice that already has substance, rather than building from nothing. You will have the mandate to grow, the team around you to support it and the platform to do it properly.

The firm will have a sensible and considered conversation around how your existing client relationships and sector expertise can be structured into a realistic and achievable business case. Clients take time, relationships need to be nurtured and the first year rarely tells the full story. The expectation here is a long-term partnership, not short-term results under undue pressure.

• Banking & Finance Partner with strong technical experience across leveraged finance, real estate finance, bilateral loans and syndicated lending
• Well-networked across the lending and finance market in the North West and beyond
• Commercially minded with existing lender and borrower relationships and a genuine appetite to grow
• Ambitious and motivated to make a senior impact within an already established and growing practice
• Comfortable operating with autonomy whilst working alongside an existing and supportive team
