Your new company
A fantastic corporate tax opportunity has arisen within the tax team of a well-established independent firm located in the West of Birmingham, with a strong focus on work-life balance for its staff. Working closely with the Tax Director, the accounts and audit departments, and other tax colleagues, this role involves coordinating corporate tax work within the firm, managing compliance, and assisting with advisory projects.
Your new role
This firm has a varied client base, differing in size, industry, and complexity. As the Corporate Tax Senior/Manager, you will review corporate tax returns prepared by other departments and handle more complex matters. You will manage a diverse portfolio, ensure deadlines are met, resolve technical queries, and maintain excellent relationships with clients. Additionally, you will support the Tax Director with corporate tax projects, conducting research and preparing advisory reports on various tax topics.
What you'll need to succeed
You should have prior UK corporate tax experience gained within an accountancy firm and ideally hold ATT qualifications. Those who are partly or fully qualified in ACCA, ACA, or CTA will also be considered. A good understanding of corporate tax compliance, awareness of legislative changes, and the ability to confidently manage a client portfolio are essential.
Effective communication skills are vital for collaborating with colleagues and building strong client relationships. You must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines, pay attention to detail, and work independently to manage your workload.
What you'll get in return
If you're looking to work in a friendly and supportive environment with a focus on work-life balance, and to further develop your tax career with a diverse range of clients, this role offers flexible working arrangements, a shorter day on Fridays, a relaxed yet professional atmosphere, and support for your long-term career development.
