What do the team do?

The Tax department works with clients ranging from high net worth individuals to large corporates and not-for-profit entities. They have an international presence and provide compliance services for complex clients, as well as advisory projects. The department operates nationally, and we are open to hiring someone based in Cambridge, Norwich, or Peterborough.

As part of our Corporate Tax team, you will manage a portfolio of business clients, primarily undertaking complex corporate tax compliance work for large UK and international companies and groups. This role involves about 75% compliance work, with options for purely compliance-focused roles or advisory assignments like reorganizations, business sales, acquisitions, tax due diligence, property tax, EIS, CIR, R&D tax, and other projects.

What will I be doing?
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, monitoring WIP and client costs
  • Planning jobs, instructing juniors, reviewing their work, and providing feedback
  • Undertaking and supervising tax compliance and advisory work, ensuring final review only
  • Providing tax advice to clients directly and through portfolio managers
  • Staying proactive on relevant legislation, compliance standards, and client benefits
  • Assisting with proposals and presentations to potential clients
What experience do I need?

While experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria below and are eager to develop, we want to hear from you:

  • CTA qualified with over two years post-qualified experience
  • Background in corporate tax compliance and advisory
  • At least 50% of recent roles involved tax advisory work
  • Experience managing client portfolios and providing tax planning advice
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
