Job Description

At Price Bailey, we offer exciting opportunities for training, personal growth, and career engagement. We foster happiness and fulfillment at work through our Smart Working culture, promoting flexibility in when and where you work, while maintaining excellent client service.

We are a well-established firm of chartered accountants and business advisors, providing services including auditing, accounting, tax, and corporate finance to a diverse client base across the UK and internationally, with a focus on entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses.

Team Overview

The Tax department serves clients from high net worth individuals to large corporates and not-for-profit entities, with an international presence. We are open to hiring someone based in Cambridge, Norwich, or Peterborough.

As part of our Corporate Tax team, you will manage a portfolio of business clients, primarily undertaking complex corporate tax compliance work for large UK and international companies, which will constitute about 75% of your role. We are also open to candidates interested solely in compliance work.

Advisory work may include corporate reorganizations, business sales and acquisitions, tax due diligence, property tax, EIS, CIR, R&D tax, and other projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage your own client portfolio, monitor WIP and client costs
  • Plan jobs, instruct and review work of juniors, provide constructive feedback
  • Undertake and supervise tax compliance and advisory work requiring only final review
  • Provide tax advice to clients directly and through portfolio managers
  • Stay informed of relevant legislation and compliance standards and apply them to client situations
  • Assist with proposals and presentations to potential clients
Candidate Requirements

We value passion and potential alongside experience. The minimum criteria include:

  • CTA qualified with over two years post-qualified experience
  • Experience in corporate tax compliance and advisory work
  • At least 50% of recent roles involved tax advisory work
  • Experience managing client portfolios and providing tax planning advice
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
What We Offer

  • 25 days annual leave (buy/sell options available)
  • Private medical insurance

  • 4x life assurance
  • Employee share scheme
  • Company car and fuel card via salary sacrifice
  • Family-friendly policies and paid time off for dependants
  • 2 days paid volunteering leave
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) including shopping discounts
