We're seeking a talented individual to join our Corporate tax team in Bristol, which is responsible for tax compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients. The primary responsibility will be to manage a portfolio of clients and oversee more junior staff as necessary. You will also support Directors/Partners in client work and group management, actively seeking out and working on special assignments and advisory projects where appropriate.

As Corporate Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of businesses including OMBs, SMEs, and larger corporates
  • Undertaking corporate tax provisioning, compliance, and advisory work for your portfolio
  • Engaging in various business tax activities (e.g., ad-hoc advisory, international tax, R&D tax credits, VAT, and employment tax)
  • Assisting with transactional and due diligence work
  • Providing exceptional client service and maintaining regular contact with clients
  • Liaising with Partners and demonstrating strong management skills
  • Training and appraising junior staff on a one-to-one basis
  • Ensuring S&W procedures follow relevant institute and HMRC guidance
  • Meeting department KPIs related to billing and recovery
  • Participating in internal meetings, seminars, and courses
  • Encouraging cross-referrals within the firm

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) and/or tax advisor (CTA)
  • Significant corporate tax experience within the profession or industry
  • Technically capable tax adviser able to handle complex client work
  • Experience managing people and client relationships
  • Interest in developing business development skills to support firm growth
