Pure Search are one of only two agencies instructed by one of the leading Sports teams in the market, both in the UK and internationally.

The Firm:

Our client are globally one of the most respected Sports practices in the market, working on some of the most high-profile sports matters. These include takeovers of major European and US sports clubs, advising governing bodies on the establishment of new competitions and providing strategic advice on player transfers.

Sitting with the Corporate team, your role will be almost entirely dedicated towards transactional sports work. This will include domestic and international M&A, private equity investments, fundraisings, venture capital, joint ventures, reorganisations and public takeovers, many of which are some of the most high-profile sports deals in the market.

The Role:

This opportunity will suit a junior to mid-level corporate associate (2-4PQE) looking to move their career into the sports, media and entertainment market. Working closely with investors and rights holders, you will advise on corporate transactions, as well as a range of governance and regulatory matters where sports is at the heart.

Work will include:

• M&A and Private Equity investment of sports assets, including Premier League football clubs;
• Advising early stage tech businesses in the sports and media sectors on their growth and development;
• Financing of football clubs and establishment of international sports competitions;
• Advising in respect of Financial Fair Play and Salary Caps;
• Advising on sponsorship, merchandising and licensing arrangements for both rights holders and brands;
• Establishing new sporting competitions in the UK and on a global scale.

The role will provide an opportunity to work for an international law firm whilst developing a clear and distinct specialism in Sport with a genuine market leader.

About You:

You will be an England & Wales qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years post-qualification experience in a broad corporate role at a leading City or international law firm, with a preference for someone with investment and PE experience.

Whilst experience of sports matters isn't essential, you will ideally have transactional experience of complimentary sector areas such as technology, media or retail transactions and be looking to forge a long-term career in the sports space. You will also hold a proven interest in business development and be looking to join a firm where you can leverage this and develop a genuine client following.
