ICTS (UK) Limited is seeking a Corporate Security Officer in Edinburgh to safeguard people and property at a major financial client site. You will demonstrate professionalism, focus, and customer service during face-to-face interviews and on-site duties.

Shifts are 12 hours, 7am or 7pm start, seven days a week with occasional short notice cover. Full training, uniform and safety equipment are provided, with emphasis on continuous professional development.

Qualifications

• SIA credentials required.
• Emergency First Aid at Work (inc. AED) qualification required.
• Five years' checkable history and references.
• Criminal Records Check (CRC) to required standards.
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Manage access control for buildings and car-parks to high customer service standards.
• Conduct external and internal foot patrols to deter and detect problems.
• Respond to customer requests and queries.
• Check and challenge ID passes with professional, friendly approach.
• Unlocking/locking buildings and gates to prevent unauthorised access.
• Record incidents using paper and computer systems.
• Respond to critical incidents such as fire, medical emergencies, lockdowns.

Corporate Security (Cover) Officer - Edinburgh, Scotland

In this high-profile Security Officer role, you'll ensure the safety and security of the people and property at a prestigious financial client's site in the centre of Edinburgh.

You will need to be a candidate who reflects the highest of professional standards, focus, and customer service.

You must have current SIA credentials and a minimum of the Emergency First Aid at Work (inc. AED) qualification.

You will need to be an experienced Security Officer, preferably within the Corporate Security market and be able to evidence your skills at a face-to-face interview: with confidence, enthusiasm, and eloquence. If invited to interview, you should expect to be tested.

This is not a freelance role. It is a permanent role within ICTS but does not come with guaranteed working hours or a fixed shift pattern. Your schedule, covering annual leave and other planned absences, will be published a few weeks in advance. Each month, there may be further opportunities to cover additional shifts at shorter notice. In the past year, our Cover Officers have been called upon, on average, for between 3 and 5 shifts per week.

Shifts are normally 12 hours' duration, starting at 7am or 7pm: across any of the 7 days: including Public Holidays.

As such, it would be beneficial to live within easy commuting distance of Edinburgh City Centre: or indicate on your application CV that you are relocating.

You will carry out a range of duties including:

• - Managing access control for buildings and car-parks - for employees, visitors and contractors - to the highest of customer service standards
• - External and internal foot patrols of the site, to deter and detect problems
• - Responding to customer requests and queries
• - Checking and challenging ID passes with a professional, friendly, and problem-solving approach: being able to make decisions on-the-spot
• - Unlocking and locking buildings, rooms, external barriers and gates to ensure that no unauthorised personnel or hazards are on-site
• - Identifying and reporting Health & Safety issues and carrying out First Aid if necessary
• - Maintaining records including incident reports using computer and paper-based systems
• - Being observant to the threat of hostile actors or situations; and be knowledgeable about the processes, policies and personal response expected, when such incidents occur
• - Responding to Critical Incidents such as Fire Evacuation, Medical Emergency, Building Lockdown, etc.
• - Completing regular training and knowledge-checks, to maintain Continuous Professional Development

You should have experience as a Corporate Security Officer, and to succeed in this role you will also need to evidence:

• - Excellent verbal, written, and numeracy skills: which will be tested at interview stage
• - Strong customer service, team working, and collaboration skills
• - The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• - The ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports
• - Competent IT and administration skills including MS Outlook, Word & Excel
• - Professional appearance and demeanour
• - Willingness to undertake development training, for example, to attend and pass the 3-day, First Aid at Work course
• - A valid SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) licence
• - Five years' checkable history and references
• - To pass a Criminal Records Check (CRC) to the required standards
• - Proof of Right to Work in the UK
