Our Diversity Study Trips (DST) division specialises in educational group travel, working in partnership with Colleges, Universities and other education providers, to tailor bespoke study experiences and travel itineraries to inspire students outside of the classroom.

We are recruiting for a Corporate Risk and Compliance Manager to join our team in Manchester.

The core focus of the role will be to take a key role in ensuring excellence across the business, via the coordination and management of internal and external compliance audits against our current suite of ISO accreditations, regulatory requirements and Company Policies, across all Diversity Travel group entities.

You will be responsible for the management and support for Continuous Process Improvement (CPI), providing recommendations, advice and guidance to management.

As the nominated Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will be responsible for ensuring business compliance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, coordinating requests and other associated processes, and advising management on potential and actual risk.

In liaison with the external Health & Safety Consultant, you will oversee and ensure full compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety legislation, highlighting risks and making recommendations to management. Some more key responsibilities will include:

Job requirements:

  • Experience of drafting, reviewing and editing relevant company policies.
  • Experience of identifying corporate risk through internal and external audit, own awareness, and other mechanisms.
  • Experience of managing all aspects of compliance, and any non-compliance, and investigating breaches.
  • Detailed knowledge of standards, certifications, legislation and accreditations applicable to the business including but not limited to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO27001, GDPR, PCI DSS and Cyber Essentials+.
  • Ability to train colleagues on compliance requirements in easy to understand, non-technical language.
  • Good, practical knowledge and understanding of ISO certifications, and Health & Safety and Environmental legal registers.
  • Experience of drafting, reviewing and editing company policies including the ability to explain requirements in simple, non-technical language which is easy for others to understand.
  • Excellent working knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection legislation, for the UK and other geographies in which the company operates.
  • knowledge of key systems such as online booking tools, contact management systems, CRM, finance systems and digital marketing desirable
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements in the US and Europe desirable
  • Competent/advanced user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), project management tools, and other software required to create and maintain documentation.
  • Exceptional communication skills; verbal, written and non-verbal and well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines, and managing own workload / time effectively.
