JOB PURPOSE

As Corporate Relations Manager, you will provide day to day communications support across a wide range of areas, including financial, brand and corporate responsibility communications. The Corporate Relations team is responsible for building trust in Burberry’s brand and protecting our global reputation. The team advises on a variety of external communications and public affairs topics, delivering communications for key announcements and initiatives in close collaboration with core functions. The role also works with external stakeholders, such as global media and delivery partners, to support the execution of the Corporate Relations strategy. The role of Corporate Relations Manager is a varied and exciting junior-mid level role for a collaborative and creative comms professional.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will initially have focus on reputational, brand and responsibility communications. However, focus areas of work linked to this role may change and adapt to business needs and project requirements.

  • Establish strong and effective working relationships with Legal, Responsibility, Brand Protection, Investor Relations, Creative Media, Brand Marketing and PR to deliver corporate storytelling and communications activations, working in alignment with regional teams
  • Lead end to end delivery of communications projects in support of the corporate relations strategy, from developing strategic approach to delivering creative assets, drafting and writing copy and leading execution on corporate channels.
  • Ownership of Burberry’s press office including managing inbound requests and relations with key journalists, managing spokespersons as required
  • Deliver global communications such as corporate LinkedIn posts and news pieces for Burberryplc.com, ensuring necessary approvals, timings and assets
  • Establish strong and effective working relationships with the Marketing, Design Studio and Creative Media teams to manage reputational considerations around creative concepts and digital content, working closely with regional teams
  • Manage creative content approvals for brand campaigns working with cross-functional teams and including for third-party creators
  • Develop talking points and briefing packs for senior leaders, collating presentations and speaking notes where required
  • Conduct relevant social listening and media monitoring to identify key risks and challenges
  • Support broader team on quarterly financial results and biannual fashion show communications working with the Investor Relations teams, Brand Marketing, Events, VIP and Talent teams.
PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Ability to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across corporate and creative teams
  • Strong project management skills with proven experience leading projects in a complex/matrix organisation
  • Experience either in house at a listed company or at an agency required
  • Experience working with sustainability communications desired
  • Confident media handler, experience working with global media desired
  • Self-motivated, driven and proactive, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; strong time management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply creative thinking to problem solving
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Fashion, luxury or retail experience advantageous
