This role offers a hybrid working arrangement. As the project is primarily based across Bristol (Filton), Tooting, and Colindale, your base location may be in one of these areas. You will be assigned this base location, which will be confirmed after the final interview and agreed upon with the line manager during the verbal offer stage
Job Summary
Working with a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts the project manager will play a vital role in delivering an independent review and providing recommendations of an Estates change programme that is seeking potential efficiencies through an invest to save initiative, The project manager will then be required to deliver on those recommendations. The role will involve significant stakeholder engagement which will build a compelling evidence-based case for change and business case. The project manager will then be required to deliver that change from conception through to project completion.
Main duties of the job
Role
In this role you will be managing NHSBT investment and transformation projects to timely and successful conclusions. Your responsibilties will include:
- Ensuring that intended project outcomes are in alignment with the business strategies, that all project budgets are managed effectively, and all operational needs are met.
- Management of specific projects under the direction of group project leads, ensuring that they are managed to the highest professional standards and comply with all relevant internal and external standards, regulation and instructions.
- Deputising for the Corporate Portfolio and Programme Managers as required and supporting assurance of projects and programmes across the organisation.
- Supporting annual corporate portfolio build planning and corporate reporting.
- Managing more than one project at any given time at different stages in their lifecycle.
- Participating in the development and improvement of the NHSBT Portfolio, Programme and Project Management tools and methods.
You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice
About You
Experience and Knowledge
- Significant project management experience, including managing risk and change, production of robust business cases, managing and monitoring budgets
- Experience of using project management tools and software to support effect scoping, planning, implementing, and monitoring progress. Experience of managing resources, including those not under direct line management control.
- Knowledge of project closures and closure report
- Experience of working with information technology using Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel,Visio, Teams and PowerPoint)
Qualifications And Training
- Masters’ degree in relevant subject or demonstrable knowledge and experience to Masters’ level
- Evidence of training in project management methods (e.g. PRINCE II practitioner, agile, waterfall)
- Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)
