A unique opportunity has arisen for a talented legal professional to step into a pivotal Corporate Practice Manager role within the thriving Private Equity M&A practice of a leading US law firm. Based in the London office, this is a high-profile role working closely with partners and leadership to drive operational excellence and team development across London and Paris.

The Corporate Practice Manager will partner with practice group leaders and the wider Practice Management team to deliver key initiatives across staffing, training, evaluations, and internal operations. This is a varied, people-focused role that combines project management with a deep understanding of legal practice needs and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee staffing, resource allocation and productivity, aligning client needs with associate development
  • Drive training programmes, practice group meetings and skills development
  • Manage performance evaluations and support career progression
  • Foster strong relationships with associates and paralegals, promoting morale and mentoring
  • Lead onboarding and integration of new hires and manage offboarding processes
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to practice group budgeting and planning
  • Champion innovation and adoption of legal technologies
  • Support inclusion, pro bono, and community engagement initiatives

A qualified corporate lawyer (with Private Equity and/or M&A experience), with at least 3+ years at a leading law firm. Prior practice management experience is a plus, though not essential, an interest in leadership, talent development, and operational delivery is key. Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills are essential. French language skills would be an advantage.
