Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Corporate and Commercial team.
  • Identify growth areas and generate new revenue streams.
  • Coach and mentor junior lawyers and support staff.
  • Develop a growth strategy and report to senior management.
  • Conduct training needs assessments.
  • Engage in general corporate commercial work including share sales, asset purchases, management buyouts, etc.

Job description

This is a unique opportunity for a driven and experienced Solicitor to join and lead the Corporate and Commercial team of a large Legal 500 Essex Law firm. The team handles a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions with values exceeding £20m.

This opportunity has arisen due to succession planning and restructuring to recruit a new Team Leader. The team consists of highly qualified senior and junior lawyers. The Commercial and Corporate Finance Team also includes a growing regulatory offering, providing new opportunities to develop client relationships.

As Team Leader, the successful candidate will be granted a discounted fee target to acknowledge the management and development responsibilities.

The candidate will lead and develop the team, identify growth areas, and generate new revenue streams. Excellent communication skills, business relationship nurturing, marketing, and business development are essential. Flexibility to work outside normal hours and attend marketing events is required.

There is potential for additional recruitment, allowing the successful candidate to shape the team and create their own identity.

This role offers a clear pathway to an equity position within the firm’s partnership and has significant growth potential.
