Job Description:

The Opportunity: CPL is actively recruiting for an experienced Corporate Lawyer (Senior Associate) to join an industry-leading legal firm with offices in Belfast City. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join the firm's specialist corporate team, working with a wide range of clients from start-ups to multinationals.

About the role: The successful candidate will be a key part of a hardworking, friendly, and supportive team with the opportunity to focus on M&A work, investment, and corporate governance, particularly in intellectual property and tech law within the vibrant start-up community in NI.

What you'll need to succeed: The ideal candidate would have significant prior experience in the following areas and be confident to handle transactions with partner support:

  1. Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE
  2. Experience in M&A processes
  3. Venture capital and/or private equity investment processes
  4. General corporate advisory work such as share issues, buy-backs, and reorganizations
  5. Producing shareholder agreements and bespoke articles of association
  6. Legal due diligence, including reports and solutions advice
  7. Handling disclosure processes and reviewing disclosure letters or schedules
  8. Drafting ancillary documents for acquisitions or disposals
  9. Client communication skills; understanding of IP is an advantage
  10. Strong team player with experience in high-performing, collaborative environments
