Job Description:

The Opportunity: CPL is actively recruiting for an experienced Corporate Lawyer (Senior Associate) to join an industry-leading legal firm with offices in Belfast City. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join this firm's specialist corporate team, working with a wide range of clients from start-ups to multinationals.

About the role: The successful candidate will be a vital part of a hardworking, friendly, and supportive team, with opportunities to focus on M&A work, investment, and corporate governance, especially in intellectual property and tech law within the vibrant start-up community in NI.

What you'll need to succeed: The ideal candidate should have significant experience in the following areas and be confident to manage transactions with partner support:

  • Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE
  • Experience with M&A processes
  • Venture capital and/or private equity investment processes
  • General corporate advisory work such as share issues, buy-backs, and reorganizations
  • Producing shareholder agreements and bespoke articles of association
  • Legal due diligence, including reports and solutions advice
  • Reviewing disclosure letters or schedules
  • Drafting ancillary documents for acquisitions or disposals
  • Handling client calls independently; understanding of IP is an advantage
  • Strong team player with experience in high-performing, collaborative environments
