Job Description:

The Opportunity: CPL is actively recruiting an experienced Corporate Lawyer (Senior Associate) to join an industry-leading legal firm with offices in Belfast City. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join the firm's specialist corporate team, working with a diverse range of clients from start-ups to multinationals.

About the Role: The successful candidate will be a key part of a supportive team, focusing on M&A, investment, corporate governance, with particular expertise in intellectual property and tech law, especially within the vibrant start-up community in Northern Ireland.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the following areas and be confident to handle transactions with partner support:

  • Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE
  • Experience in M&A processes
  • Venture capital and/or private equity investment processes
  • General corporate advisory work, such as share issues, buy-backs, and re-organisations
  • Producing shareholder agreements and bespoke articles of association
  • Legal due diligence, including reports and solutions advice
  • Handling disclosure processes and reviewing disclosure documents
  • Drafting ancillary documents for acquisitions or disposals
  • Client communication skills; understanding of IP is advantageous
  • Strong team player with experience in high-performing, collaborative environments
