Job Description:

The Opportunity: CPL is actively recruiting for an experienced Corporate Lawyer (Senior Associate) to join an industry-leading legal firm with offices in Belfast City. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join the firm's specialist corporate team, working with a wide range of clients from start-ups to multinationals.

About the Role: The successful candidate will be a key part of a friendly and supportive team, focusing on M&A work, investment, and corporate governance, with particular expertise in intellectual property and tech law, especially within the vibrant start-up community in Northern Ireland.

What You'll Need to Succeed: The ideal candidate should have significant experience in the following areas and be confident to manage transactions with partner support:

  • Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE
  • M&A process
  • Venture capital and/or private equity investment process
  • General corporate advisory work (share issues, buy-backs, reorganisations)
  • Producing shareholder agreements and articles of association
  • Legal due diligence and advising on solutions
  • Handling disclosure process and reviewing disclosure documents
  • Drafting ancillary documents for acquisitions or disposals
  • Communicating with clients independently; understanding of IP is advantageous
  • Strong team player with experience in high-performing, collaborative environments
