Job Description:

The Opportunity: CPL is actively recruiting for an experienced Corporate Lawyer (Senior Associate) to join an industry-leading legal firm with offices in Belfast City. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join this firm's specialist corporate team, working with a wide range of impressive clients from start-ups to multinationals.

About the role: The successful candidate will be a key part of a hard-working, friendly, and supportive team, with the opportunity to focus on M&A work, investment, corporate governance, particularly in intellectual property and tech law, especially within the vibrant start-up community in NI.

What you'll need to succeed: The ideal candidate would have significant prior experience in the following areas and be confident to run transactions with partner support:

  1. Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE
  2. The M&A process
  3. Venture capital and/or private equity investment process
  4. General corporate advisory work such as share issues, buy-backs, and internal re-organisations
  5. Producing shareholder agreements and bespoke articles of association
  6. Legal due diligence, including reports and solutions
  7. The disclosure process and review of disclosure letters or schedules
  8. Drafting ancillary documents on acquisitions or disposals
  9. Handling client calls independently; understanding of IP is an advantage
  10. Strong team player with experience in high-performing, collaborative environments
