Job Description

The Opportunity: CPL is actively recruiting an experienced Corporate Lawyer (Senior Associate) to join an industry-leading legal firm with offices in Belfast City. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned lawyer to join a specialist corporate team working with a diverse range of clients, from start-ups to multinationals.

About the role: The successful candidate will be a key part of a hardworking, friendly, and supportive team, with a focus on M&A work, investment, corporate governance, and particular expertise in intellectual property and tech law, especially within the vibrant start-up community in Northern Ireland.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE
  • Experience in the M&A process
  • Knowledge of venture capital and/or private equity investment processes
  • Experience in general corporate advisory work such as share issues, buy-backs, and re-organizations
  • Proficiency in producing shareholder agreements and bespoke articles of association
  • Legal due diligence experience, including reports and advising on solutions
  • Understanding of the disclosure process and reviewing disclosure letters or schedules
  • Ability to draft ancillary documents on acquisitions or disposals
  • Experience handling client calls independently; understanding of IP is advantageous
  • Strong team player with experience in high-performing, collaborative environments
