Job Description
Ealing Council’s Corporate Health and Safety Service is seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
This role offers an opportunity to be involved in safety management across diverse areas such as the zoo, housing, waste management, social services, construction projects (e.g., office refurbs, oversight of regeneration and housing projects), highways, libraries, leisure centres, parks, and major events. You will also work with services on procurement and contract management.
The Corporate Health and Safety team is centrally located, overseeing advisory and audit responsibilities for all council functions. It provides a dynamic and varied environment, offering a broad range of experiences.
We are looking for a committed professional with the right attitude who can engage with stakeholders and gain buy-in from senior leadership, councillors, managers, the workforce, contractors, regulators, and third parties.

About the role:
To provide competent, pragmatic, and professional health and safety advisory and support services to Council departments, monitoring compliance through audits and inspections.
Review, update, embed, and monitor the Council’s health and safety management system, policies, and procedures.
Evaluate and adapt safety management systems to meet organizational needs and regulatory changes.
Promote a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture through innovative initiatives and timely engagement with service managers.
Lead efforts in health and safety cultural change.
Flexible working arrangements are available with IT support. Due to occasional emergency incident support, living within a reasonable distance of the borough is required.
