Job description

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) is seeking a Corporate Governance Assistant to provide high-quality governance and organisational support to our Executive Team and Company Secretariat function.

This is a key governance role supporting the effective operation of the Executive Team, Board and Committees. Working at the centre of the organisation's governance framework, you'll help ensure that governance processes are delivered to a high standard, decision-making is well supported, and governance information is effectively managed.

Working closely with senior leaders, Board and Committee members, and colleagues across the SRA, you'll coordinate governance activities, support the preparation and management of governance documentation, maintain governance records and contribute to the delivery of effective governance processes and systems.

What's in it for you

This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of the SRA's governance framework, supporting the effective operation of the organisation's most senior decision-making bodies.

You'll develop close working relationships with Executive Team members, Board and Committee members and gain exposure to a wide range of strategic, operational and regulatory matters.

The breadth of the role means you'll be involved in all aspects of governance delivery, from supporting high-quality decision-making and maintaining governance records through to governance reporting, Board administration and continuous improvement initiatives.

It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a professional environment, managing multiple priorities and building strong relationships across an organisation.

What we're looking for

We are seeking an organised and proactive individual with experience supporting complex meetings and governance activities, and an understanding of governance principles and processes.

You will bring:

  • Knowledge of governance principles, committee processes, information governance and records management.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality minutes, reports and governance documentation.
  • Experience supporting committee administration and maintaining governance documentation and records to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Experience coordinating meetings involving senior stakeholders, including agenda preparation, paper management, minute taking and action tracking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.

You will thrive in a role that requires excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to work at pace, managing pressure and shifting priorities while continuing to support senior stakeholders and deliver governance activities to a high standard.
