Salary: £41,701.28 - £46,300.29 per year

Hours: 35 hours per week

Job Description

The Fraud Officer will support the delivery of Council-wide counter-fraud arrangements, including the promotion of a counter-fraud culture / zero tolerance approach to fraud, awareness, and good practice across the Council.

This covers development, maintenance, and reporting of the Council’s Anti-Fraud and Corruption Strategy and supporting arrangements; investigation of and reporting (and monitoring) on allegations of fraud and irregularity; coordination and reporting of the Council’s participation in the National Fraud Initiative.

They will develop the function, fostering and encouraging a culture of high quality customer service, corporate working, and continuous improvement and innovation. You must be self-motivated, experienced in conducting investigations with effective interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organisational skills. Provide a full range of fraud services including whistleblowing investigations, and consultancy work and advice. The postholder must fully understand the implications and consequences of advice provided. Professional judgement and common sense must be applied at all times, and professional advice sought as appropriate.

As a member of the Legal and Governance team, they will be expected to work collaboratively with other colleagues to support overall operational leadership and ensure excellence in the services provided by Legal and Governance.
