Job summary

FRP Advisory is seeking a Corporate Finance Manager/Associate Director in Liverpool to drive deal execution and client engagement on live transactions from start to finish. This hands-on role involves leading junior staff, coordinating timetables, and developing client solutions within a growing Corporate Finance team.

Qualifications

• ACA / ACCA-qualified.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of transactions and manage deal timetable with ownership of specific areas.
• Coordinate day-to-day transaction work and supervise junior staff.
• Attend client meetings with Partners/Directors and lead defined work streams.
• Prepare and review business plans, information memoranda and financial forecasts.
• Develop and present pitch documents summarising valuations, deals and potential buyers/targets.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Manager/AD to join our growing Corporate Finance team. The successful candidate will drive deal execution, business development/origination, and wider sector‑specific activities. This is a hands‑on role with direct exposure to clients, senior team members and live transactions from start to finish.

Client Work

• Working closely with a Partner or Director, lead the execution of transactions and drive the timetable through ownership of specific areas of the deal.
• General project management, leading day‑to‑day transaction work and directing the work of junior members.
• Accompany Partner or Directors to meetings with clients and lead discrete areas of work as required.
• Preparing and reviewing business plans, information memorandum and financial forecasts – flagging issues for higher level review.
• Building rapport with clients, understanding their business and supporting the design of project plans to achieve their ambitions and expectations.
• Actively identifying potential solutions to deal issues and raising them with senior team members.
• Coordinating the research of potential buyers, approaching them and managing the exchange of information.
• Having a detailed understanding of commercial deal structure and fund flows.
• Coordinating compliance with risk management procedures and application of the firm’s policies in relation to engagement terms and transaction documentation.

Business Development

• Assist senior team members with business development and marketing activities.
• Attend networking events and develop a network of peers.
• Lead on production of pitch documents, summarising and presenting research on valuations, recent deals and potential buyers/targets.
• Take responsibility for agreed areas of origination and business development, including identifying potential clients and angles of approach.

Team Management

• Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within teams, on client premises and in the office.
• Seek and act on feedback from all levels.
• Assist with general correspondence, administration (including billing) and ad‑hoc projects within the department.

Risk & Quality

• Act with integrity at all times and comply with all required internal and external risk management procedures.
• Ensure quality on all client deliverables.
• Be aware of and comply with FCA Conduct rules.
• Comply with FRP Fit & Proper Persons test.
• Ensure all appropriate take‑on and risk management processes, including AML, are followed on all client projects.
• Seek out training on specific areas where additional knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• ACA / ACCA qualified.

Experience

• Good experience in a corporate finance environment, including leading parts of transactions from either a lead advisory or transaction services perspective.
• Some experience of a range of transaction types, including corporate sales and Private Equity deal structuring.
• Commercial acumen to understand what contributes to a business’s success and what makes it attractive to investors or buyers.

• Strong numerical, financial and modelling skills based on a well‑developed understanding of financial statements.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality professional documents for clients and internal use.
