Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is recruiting for a Corporate Finance Manager for a public sector client in Rugby. The role is hands-on with accountability for all corporate finance items, including accounts production, external audit, VAT and treasury management.

Initially on-site in Rugby for four days a week, with a later pattern of two to three on-site days, the arrangement depends on business needs. The position is Inside IR35 and demands broad hands-on experience in district and borough

Qualifications

• Must be a fully qualified accountant with hands-on technical accounting capability and responsibility for all corporate finance items.
• Must have recent experience in District and Borough Councils.
• Initial on-site presence in Rugby for at least 4 days per week, then 2–3 days on-site later depending on business needs.
• Role is Inside IR35 and requires active involvement beyond management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee production of the statement of accounts.
• Coordinate External Audit and VAT/compliance matters.
• Oversee Treasury Management, Cash Flow, and banking activities.

Corporate Finance Manager

Essential Requirements

• Must be a fully qualified accountant and be basically, a hands‑on technical accountant that will also have all the responsibility for all corporate finance items
• Must have sufficient and recent experience in District and Borough Councils
• For the first couple of weeks will need to be on site in Rugby probably for at least 4 days each week – so that they can understand what is going and to meet all the relevant people
• After that it will need a weekly on site presence of 2 or 3 days – depending on business need
• Inside IR35
• This is not a ‘just manage’ – it’s very many hands on
• Including responsibility for and possibly doing:
  1. Production of the statement of accounts
  2. External Audit
  3. VAT
  4. CIS returns
  5. Fixed Asset Register
  6. Accounts Payable
  7. Treasury Management and Banking
  8. Cash Flow
  9. Delta returns
  10. WGA
  11. Anything and everything else that needs doing

Just to be clear this is for all the normal corporate finance items, that you would expect from any District or Borough Council, and I understand that Candidates might not have all the experience that I need.
