Job description

Corporate Finance Director

Location: North West / Hybrid

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 + benefits

Level: Director

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate Finance Director to join a growing and ambitious advisory business with a strong focus on M&A and corporate finance.

This is more than a traditional transaction execution role. Alongside leading and delivering M&A assignments, you will play a key role in developing new business, building relationships with business owners and professional advisers, and converting opportunities into successful client mandates and completed transactions.

Working closely with the Partners, you will take ownership of client relationships and play an important role in developing the firm's corporate finance offering and future growth.

For the right individual, this represents an excellent opportunity to take on significant leadership responsibility and progress towards a senior management or equity position as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage M&A and corporate finance transactions from origination through to completion.
  • Act as a senior day-to-day contact for clients throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Manage transaction timetables and coordinate professional advisers to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Prepare and review information memoranda, financial models, valuations, business plans and management presentations.
  • Undertake financial analysis and advise clients on strategic and commercial options.
  • Support negotiations with buyers, investors, funders and their advisers.
  • Manage project budgets, risks, deliverables and client expectations.
  • Develop new business opportunities and convert prospects into fee-paying mandates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, management teams, professional advisers and referral sources.
  • Contribute to the development of the corporate finance pipeline and wider market presence.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, supporting their technical and professional development.
  • Take an active role in the strategic development and future growth of the business.
About You

We are looking for an experienced Corporate Finance professional, ideally operating at Director level, with a strong track record of delivering successful transactions and the commercial drive to contribute to the continued growth of the business.

You will be confident working with senior clients and professional advisers and will combine strong technical corporate finance expertise with excellent relationship-building and business development skills.

You will ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Strong experience within Corporate Finance, M&A, Transaction Services or a related advisory environment.
  • Proven experience managing and delivering corporate finance transactions.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements and key business value drivers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing, coaching and developing junior team members.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial approach to business development.
  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses, private equity investors or entrepreneurial clients would be advantageous.
The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Corporate Finance professional who wants more than simply delivering transactions.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a significant role in business development, client relationship management and the future strategic direction of the firm, with genuine scope for progression and increased leadership responsibility
