Grant Thornton UK is seeking an Assistant Manager in Corporate Finance to support deal teams across sell-side and buy-side transactions. You will assist in preparing information memoranda, marketing materials, client presentations and valuations, while working across sectors and regions.

You will collaborate with Directors and Partners, analyse financial data, develop your professional skills, and contribute to a collegial team that values quality, integrity and flexible working.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CA or equivalent) or proven M&A experience.
  • Experience in UK professional services or advisory firm.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Knowledge of financial statement analysis and financial modelling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Experience managing multiple deliverables and deadlines.
  • Ambition and collaboration across levels of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in supporting transaction execution across sell-side and buy-side projects.
  • Assist in collating and analysing financial and commercial data to support transactions.
  • Draft information memoranda and marketing materials as part of the transaction process.
  • Prepare client presentations and pitch documents including credentials.
  • Assist in valuing companies using comparables, precedents and DCF.
  • Work with Directors and Partners across multiple sectors and regions.

A look into the role

As an Assistant Manager within our Corporate Finance team you will:

  • Play a key role in supporting transaction execution and contributing across multiple projects.
  • Have a major impact on our clients and our firm.
  • We pride ourselves on the high-level standards and quality we expect from our people Work on the full client project Lifecyle, from opportunity sourcing to pitch and completion you will be a key member of this team working alongside peers and senior individuals (Directors and Partners)
  • Assist in collating and analysing financial and commercial data to support transactions.
  • Draft information memoranda and marketing materials as part of the transaction process.
  • Prepare client presentations and pitch documents including credentials.
  • Assist in valuing companies, utilising public company comparisons, precedent transactions and discount cash flow.
  • Be a part of a close, dynamic Corporate Finance team, and work with a variety of clients across a range of sectors. and regions
  • Have opportunities to develop yourself and others, driving your own development with the support of your people manager.
Minimum criteria you’ll need
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CA (or CIPFA or CFA qualified) or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in M&A, supported by a proven background in a similar role.
  • Experience gained within a UK professional services environment or relevant UK Advisory firm.
  • Competent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of financial statements analysis and financial modelling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience of managing multiple deliverables, showing prioritisation skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong ambition with proven capabilities to collaborate effectively with all levels of the team in a rapidly changing, demanding and rewarding environment
  • A solid understanding of quality and ethical practice in everything you do
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • A keen interest in mergers and acquisitions
