Job Overview:

We are seeking a Corporate & CRE Underwriter to join our Harrow office. The role involves processing and underwriting of Corporate, Commercial Retail Estate proposals, personal loans, and managing related client relationships.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Processing and underwriting of corporate, CRE credit proposals, and personal loans.
  2. Managing the assessment, processing, and presentation of lending proposals to the Sanctioning Committee.
  3. Operationally overseeing the annual review process for existing credit portfolios to ensure compliance with borrowing requirements and covenants.
  4. Assessing and mitigating credit risks in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
  5. Conducting site visits as required.
  6. Liaising with the Originations team to determine application outcomes.
  7. Monitoring existing loans for early arrears or potential issues and making recommendations.
  8. Ensuring credit decisions comply with regulatory standards, TCF principles, and Customer First standards.
  9. Supporting the Credit Department operations alongside the CCO.
  10. Coordinating with solicitors and valuation firms for credit proposals.
  11. Presenting proposals to Risk and other UK management committees for product introductions and renewals.
Required Competencies:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, principles, and rules.
  • Knowledge of the UK lending environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in credit underwriting or assessment.
