Our client:

S&H have been exclusively instructed by a boutique financial services firm on a broad Corporate/Commercial Counsel position, reporting to and working closely with the General Counsel on a wide range of matters. You will ideally have had private practice training in a city law firm and have a broad range of corporate and commercial experience and an ability to quickly understand and assess new and complex projects with unfamiliar subject matter. The role requires a combination of excellence in both legal and strategic analysis and commercial awareness.

Key responsibilities:

• Working directly with the General Counsel across a range of legal and commercial matters
• Corporate governance and structures
• Regulatory matters
• Commercial contracts
• Employment issues
• Will involve engaging in a wide range of commercial and in-house projects

Experience requirements:

• Post qualification experience of 1 - 3 years
• Be admitted in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction
• Have the right to live and work independently in the UK
• FS experience in private practice is not essential. Would need relevant experience in the dynamic parts of the private sector, e.g., a broad-based corporate team
• In-house experience, especially in an FS business, would be useful, especially in a smaller/newer business
