Location: Across Kirklees – including Offices, Community Buildings & Town Halls

Are you someone who takes pride in keeping things running behind the scenes? Do you enjoy practical work, variety in your day, and making a real difference in your community?

We’re looking for a reliable, customer-focused Caretaker to join our Facilities Management team, supporting around80 council buildings across Kirklees. From Town Halls to Community Centres, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our buildings are safe, secure, and welcoming for all.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Opening and locking buildings to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Carrying out health & safety checks and compliance testing (fire alarms, emergency lighting, water quality)
  • Performing general maintenance, minor repairs, and reporting defects
  • Supporting events with room setups, stage erection, and customer care
  • Managing waste control and external grounds maintenance, including winter duties
  • Liaising with contractors and tradespeople to keep everything running efficiently
