Our client is a national waste broker, located in Newark-on-Trent, specialising in providing bespoke recycling and waste management solutions to their customers. They provide national upcycling and waste management services to a wide range of business sectors.

They are recruiting for a Corporate Business Development Manager to join their team.

The Corporate Business Development Manager reports to the Head of Sales and is part of a dynamic Sales team responsible for growth through new business development. The team includes the Head of Sales, Bid Manager, and Internal Sales Executive.

Role Overview

The Corporate Business Development Manager will research, engage, and develop new business opportunities to increase revenue and profit, meeting or exceeding sales and margin targets.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Identify, qualify (including financial due diligence), pursue, and secure new business opportunities using the Sales & Marketing Strategy.
  2. Achieve sales growth aligned with company and personal targets.
  3. Understand customer needs and coordinate with departments to deliver suitable solutions.
  4. Prepare quotations and tender documents reflecting the full market proposition.
  5. Maintain a live pipeline of prospects and customers with credible forecasts using the CRM system.
  6. Plan and execute personal sales activities, including face-to-face meetings, calls, and emails.
  7. Generate leads independently for prospecting.
  8. Contribute ideas for marketing and sales campaigns.
  9. Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to improve processes and support growth.
  10. Represent the company positively, ensuring the market proposition is compelling and relevant.
  11. Stay informed about waste management trends and sector developments, attending trade shows and industry events as needed.
  12. Build relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  13. Uphold company values, mission, and vision in all duties.

Candidate Profile

  • Commercially savvy and proactive.
  • Self-motivated with initiative and creativity in building a sales pipeline.
  • Confident communicator, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent customer support skills and ability to build customer confidence.
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficient Excel use.
  • Organized with good time management.
  • Team leadership ability to drive sales efforts.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven record of exceeding sales targets in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in the waste management sector preferred.
  • Membership of CIWM (desirable) and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Understanding of environmental and contract law.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and stay away from home are required.
