Job Description:

The role is in the Emerging Market, Credit Derivatives and Fixed Income Financing Legal Team, with primary focus on providing legal coverage to the Credit Trading business in relation to their OTC derivatives activity and the Currencies and Emerging Markets business. The team advises on a broad range of transactions including emerging market financings documented in various formats, vanilla and bespoke credit default swaps, Shariah-compliant derivatives, cryptocurrency-related transactions, and represents Morgan on the EMEA Credit Derivatives Determinations Committee.

As a Corporate and Investment Bank – Legal – Derivatives Lawyer – Vice President, you will advise on transactions across emerging markets, credit derivatives, and cryptocurrency-backed financing, addressing complex legal and regulatory issues and partnering with the business to structure and negotiate transactions across jurisdictions. The team is highly technical, offering a rewarding opportunity for a talented lawyer to work on innovative, market-leading transactions. The role requires knowledge of UK and European derivatives law and regulation.

Job responsibilities

  • Providing legal support and advice to the business.
