Job description

Our client, a leading insurance group at Lloyd’s, is seeking a Corporate and Consolidations Accountant to join their team in London. The successful candidate will be offered a salary of £60,000 - £65,000 per annum and an excellent benefits package, along with a hybrid working environment.

Job Overview

This well-established company has an excellent market reputation and a friendly, team-oriented working environment. Whilst exposure to the Lloyd’s insurance market would be beneficial, qualified candidates from other industries will be positively considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing quarterly consolidation and regularly occurring complex BAU transactions
  • Reconciling subsequent balance sheet accounts for all corporate entities’ general ledgers, including two overseas offices and two wider group company entities
  • Preparing accounting for complex transactions, such as dividends in specie, IFRS16 adjustments, and group eliminations
  • Reviewing and analyzing remote office submissions and uploading into PeopleSoft where applicable
  • Preparing statutory accounts and returns for the Dubai office
  • Running revaluation and translation processes, and reconciling their outputs
  • Running the consolidation process, including automated PeopleSoft processes and manual consolidation adjustments
  • Reviewing and resolving variances noted in reconciliations and other reviews
  • Preparing and posting regularly occurring BAU journals for corporate entities
  • Preparing reconciliation packs and linking into underlying balance reconciliations for corporate entities
  • Completing ad-hoc investigations on balances which are the responsibility of the corporate accounting team as and when required
Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in financial services, preferably with exposure to the Lloyd’s insurance market. The ability to work in a team-oriented environment and support the design of improvements to BAU processes is essential.
